The Farmers Desk was born in Iowa, in the heart of farm country. The idea came from a frustration David Pedelty kept hearing from his farmer friends: the numbers that run a farm — USDA reports, the forecast, cash bids, WASDE — were scattered across a half-dozen sites. Too many places, too much noise. So he built one desk for all of it: the day's data in plain language, every figure linked to its source.
